Tagged!

I've been tagged by Nessima Tavariel!
If you've been reading my blog for awhile, then you already know how much I enjoy doing tags=D

Without further ado...

1. Post these rules
2. Post 11 random things about yourself (optional)
3. Answer the questions the tagger posted for you in their post.
4. Create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.
5. Go to their blog and tell them that they have been tagged

Okie dokie, 11 random things about me...

{1} I can read a 300+ page book in 3 hours.
{2} Sherlock Holmes has been my hero ever since I was a little girl.  At one point, I had definitely decided to devote my life to the science of deduction...that never really got off the ground;)
{3} I'm a people watcher.  Nothing I like better than to be sitting at the airport watching people, speculating about their lives, trying to spot any detail that might give me a clue.  Maybe a bit of Sherlock did rub off after all. *grin*
{4} I love making lists of random facts about me.   That's basically what my About Me page is - one big random facts list.
{5} I'm a night owl.  I come alive after 9 o'clock at night.  I've never been able to fall asleep before 11:00 PM...unless I'm sick.
{6} I've never broken a bone (I may have used that in a tag before, but oh well.)
{7} Most mornings, I don't eat breakfast.  Just a cup of tea or hot chocolate.
{8} I've owned my beautiful horse, Bob, for almost 9 years now.  We're good buddies:)
{9} One fine day, I took a Lord of the Rings personality test.  It turns out I'm a complex combination of Treebeard, Gollum, and Frodo.  I'm one mixed up person! *grin*
{10} When The Doctor and Rose Tyler said good-bye to each other, I cried.  Not just teared up - I cried.  And spent about 20 min. sniffing and blowing my nose.  I do not cry over TV shows...but I did over this one.  Weird?  Yeah.
{11} I may sound spunky and outgoing here on my blog, but in reality I'm an introvert.

Ok, now to answer the 11 questions asked by Nessima...

1) What is your earliest memory from your childhood?
Hmm...drawing a blank here.  Ok, here's one - I remember having some sort of disagreement with my then best friend when I was about...5 or 6? and her mom made us sit on the stairs next to each other until we could behave. *grin* I also remember sitting on my mom and dad's bed every night while she read us a bedtime story, usually a chapter from The Happy Hollisters series.

2) You have a choice of being given any super-power; what is it?
Flying!!  I can't think of anything more original than that.  Sorry.

3) Describe to me that outfit in your head, the one you wish you had so badly...
Outfit, or costume?

Outfit: a 50s style shirt dress likes the ones worn by June Cleaver in the TV show Leave it to Beaver.  I could seriously steal her wardrobe - it's so my style!  Plaid, sailor collars, scarves, belts, pearls.  Just love it:)

Costume: a long, flowing, soft, shiny, elegant medieval dress.  Something like the dresses worn by Eowyn in LoTR.  I especially love her eggshell blue "Victory" dress.  It's so gorgeous!!

4) What's your favorite musical instrument?  What image comes to mind when you think of this instrument?
The piano.  It always makes me think of my Grandma Barb.  Some of my earliest memories are of her playing the Bumble Boogie on the piano.  We used to dance to it;)

5) Would you rather be divinely beautiful, angelically good, or dazzlingly clever?
Dazzlingly clever, please.

6)Are you more likely to be found in an old attic with your nose in a book, or will you be hanging out at the mall with your besties?
With my nose in a book, for sure!  Actually, my best friend and I have been known to read together.  Just pick out books, and read...for hours...without saying anything...well, hardly anything;)

7) If you could've been born in any time period (other than your own), what would it be?
The early American frontier.

8)Is your preferred weapon a bow and a quiver of arrows, or a magnificently wrought sword (you're allowed to be all clever and say "wit")?
Bow and arrows.

9) Your preferred mode of travel?
By horseback, of course!  I hate driving the car and I would totally ride my horse everywhere if I could.

10) You hear about a new historical or fantasy movie that is coming out soon. You are:
a) Ecstatic: you're favorite dream-boat of an actor is in it!
b) Super-stoked: the book that it's based on is amazing!
c) Excited to see the costumes, of course!
d) Your favorite composer is doing the soundtrack.  Need I say more?
e) Going just to see the horses which will undoubtedly be gorgeous.
f) Not going at all; there's a new sci-fi thriller out that begs to watched!
How about all of the above...except the last one.
*thinks about The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and ticks off on fingers*
Richard Armitage...Tolkien...costumes...Howard Shore score...horses (I hope)...what's not to like???

11) Of all the places in this world, the place you love most is....?
My room.  Or my Grandma Barb's house in Southern CA.  I have so many wonderful memories of her house - it feels like coming home when I step through the door.

BONUS QUESTION (purely optional):  You have been tossed into a book; describe to me the adventure that follows this interesting turn of events...
I'm afraid I'm going to pass on this one - my imagination isn't quite up to it right now;)

Ok, now to create 11 questions for the peeps I tag to answer...

1.Which song has inspired you most at this time in your life?
2. What are your sentiments on the subject of brussel sprouts?
3. Do you feel faint at the sight of blood?
4. Do you enjoy chatting on the phone or would you just as soon write an email or send a text or even write a letter?
5. What if suddenly the sky was green and the grass was blue?  What would you think?
6. If you built a time machine, where would you go first? (let's just assume we're all capable of building a time machine, ok?;)
7. If the powers that be suddenly decreed that everyone must wear a bright pink shirt with a chartreuse daisy adorning the front and bunny slippers on our feet, what would you do? (um...nope.  No idea where that one came from!)
8. If you could become a character from a book, who would it be?
9. Do you paint your nails?
10. Are you a perfectionist?
11. Do you unintentionally incorporate movie lines into your everyday conversations?
Whew - it's kind of hard to come up with 11 questions!

Ok, I'm tagging...

Michelle from Free Indeed
Rebekah from The Rambling Rose
Abbie from Abbie Writes
Hanne-col from Ain't We Got Fun

No pressure to do the tag if you don't want to:)

Happy Trails, y'all!

  2. Love your questions, dear;)

The mental image of you coming alive after 9 o'clock at night was slightly disturbing, however... unless, of course, anyone has ever seen you in action. You have to see it to believe it with the Midnight Sillies...=D

May I please have June Cleaver's wardrobe? Or we could just share...

  3. What interesting answers you gave to all of the questions! Gosh being tagged is quite the assignment!!Even though I grew up in the 50s, I too still love the styles with plaids, sailor collars, and A-line dresses and skirts! And, I am with you on the Sherlock Holmes stories--I love many of the murder mystery series. Did you ever read the Lord Peter Whimsy series by Dorothy Sayers?? I true must read! I think Lord Peter is my favorite but then Sherlock is quite compelling.

  4. Thanks for the tag! I'll try to get my answers posted Tuesday when I have the evening free.

Tell you what--you and Kellie can share Mrs. Cleaver's wardrobe, and I'll take Éowyn's. Deal? ;-)(Incidentally, the "Victory" Gown is one of my favorites of hers, too.)

QUOTE: "I may sound spunky and outgoing here on my blog, but in reality I'm an introvert."
Oh, I hear ya! It's so much easier to let the person you are inside come out when you don't have people's eyes STARING at you...leastways, that's my excuse. *Halo*

I imagine there will be horses in The Hobbit, since in the book they all rode ponies, and of course there's Gandalf on his own horse. :-D

    God bless,
    ~"Wild Rose"~
(Who is also looking forward to TH)

  5. Sereina - Very classy, indeed!

Kellie - lol. It's slightly disturbing me, too;D Ah, the Midnight Sillies are the best! I think your mom had a bad case of it the other night...;D
Absolutely! We can share June Cleaver's wardrobe:)

Winnie - Some tags are more involved than others, that's for sure. This one was one of those.
I've never read the Lord Peter Whimsey series, but I'll definitely have to check it out! I just love a good mystery series=)

    Wild Rose - You're very welcome=)
You've got yourself a deal;) I love Eowyn's gowns - so much inspiration for my someday medieval gown that it really almost makes me dizzy! lol.
Haha! That's my excuse, too! It's so much harder to be spunky when you're being stared at;)
Hurray! It's been awhile since I read the book, so I couldn't remember if there were horses or not...but I thought there surely must be:).

Have a beautiful, wonderful Sunday, everyone!!
