And we are live! | Black Friday Sale

Hello there everyone!  I trust you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday.  I certainly did!
I'd love it if you would drop by the shop today (no pressure to buy anything, but 'favorites' would be welcome:), or even help spread the word about my Black Friday - Cyber Monday sale on your blogs and other social media!  Feel free to use the sale spread below...

I'm getting ready to go visit a friend who is in the hospital and I'm thinking a purple ruffle scarf will help cheer her up. *smile*

Are you brave enough to go shopping on Black Friday?  Is it worth the crowds?  I want to know!

p.s.
On a completely unrelated topic, the green and purple in the first photo remind me of Penelope's scarf. :)

Thanksgiving Sale Details + This n' That

There's no one else in the house.  I repeat - there is no one in the house at this moment but yours truly.  We don't have a large family but even so, this is a pretty rare occurrence.  And I am taking advantage of this solitude by typing this post and blasting Glenn Miller Christmas music before I go back to crocheting and Doctor Who.

Today has been a bit of an off day.  Nothing really wrong, but I've got that rumply feeling again.  And I woke up with a tummy ache.  That's never a good way to start your morning, is it?  Plus, I had a fun but late night last night.  That doesn't tend to give you a sunshiny feeling in the morning. *wink*

Sometimes, I just have so many thoughts swirling around in my brain, so many emotions welling up inside me.  It's really distracting!  For example, I started this post to share details about Wool & Whatnot's Thanksgiving sale.  And here I am rambling on about rumply feelings and stomach aches.  Hardly inspiring and uplifting!  But, we all have days like today.  Days when it feels like we're not really doing anything, just spinning our wheels.  Days when it feels like nothing is in control.  Very often, I realize that I haven't been in the Word enough when I feel like this.  What I really need to do is spend some time with my Father, count my blessings, and let go and let Him take on my burden.  I don't need to fret or worry.  He has got this all under control.  He holds my world together with His hands.

So, the sale details...

What?  Wool & Whatnot's Thanksgiving Sale!
When?  Black Friday through Cyber Monday! That's November 29th through December 2nd.
Everything in the shop is 15% off!  Plus free shipping in the US!!  Can't beat that, can you?

Well, I must say that I feel better, just typing all of this down.  Not only have the cobwebs cleared a bit, but I've done something productive today!  Hooray for me!! *grin*

We'll be heading to my grandparent's house for Thanksgiving tomorrow.  I can't wait to stuff myself with delicious food, play Chinese checkers with Grandma, and then take a nap on the sofa.  Or maybe I'll take a nap and then play checkers...  Sounds like the perfect day to me!  *smile*

Have a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
What are your Thanksgiving plans?  Do you visit family?  I want to know!

Frosty Violet // New in the Shop

o u t f i t
Bow Slouch Hat in Violet // by Wool & Whatnot
grey shirtdress w/ purple flowers // eShakti {check the bottom of this post for a referral code!}
grey sweater // thrifted {Dazzle}
grey undershirt // thrifted
plum tights // Fred Meyer
black flats // Fred Meyer

I saw this adorable dress in the overstock section at eShakti, and it kept begging me to make it mine.  Soft heather grey knit with purple flowers...it has my name on it.  Well not really, but give me time and a crayon. *grin*  I managed to resist the temptation and had decided not to buy it, when eShakti sent me a $25 gift coupon.  Whack me over the head and say "buy it", why doncha?  So, I bought it.  And I'm so glad I did.  This is the most comfortable, snugly dress ever!  And eShakti is wonderful.

You know how sometimes you're having a hard day, and the smallest thing turns it around and whispers the Father's love to you?  Sometimes it's spiritual - the encouraging words of a sister in Christ - and sometimes it's not.  Sometimes it's as small and insignificant as a new dress.  He truly does care about the little details, and He delights in proving it to me over and over again.

p.s.
Use referral code NATASHA48ZT and your new customer gift coupon will be worth $30 {instead of $25}!!  Promo code valid through 11/30/2013.

p.p.s
Wool & Whatnot is busy preparing for our Thanksgiving Sale this weekend!
Black Friday through Cyber Monday.  Stay tuned for details!
Get a head start on your shopping and use coupon code THANKSPREVIEW to get 15% off on items over $5.00!  Offer expires 11/27/2013.

The Day of the Doctor // DW 50th Anniversary

Today's the day, folks!  The sun is shining, the tank is clean, and it is the 50th Anniversary Doctor Who Special!!  Ahhhhhhh!!!!  *screams with excitement*  I am so, so EXCITED!!!  Oh dear...I'm really fangirling now.  And why shouldn't I??  It isn't every day that your favorite show turns 50!!  Squeeeee!!!!

Basically, I'm wandering around the house, grinning, skipping, vibrating, rubbing my hands together, and squealing, "50th anniversary! Ten...Rose...Eleven...Eight...warrior...TEN...doo wee oooOOOoooo!!!!"  Yup, such is the extent of my madness.

Can I just say right here, that the whole regeneration idea was BRILLIANT??  Cause it is.  Completely, and utterly brilliant.

For the past few weeks I've been re-watching the entire :new: series starting with Nine, so today will be spent crocheting, sewing, and watching Series 3 and 4.  (Unfortunately, I don't have Series 5, 6, and & from the library yet.  Oh well.)  And squealing.  A lot.  Then...The Day of the Doctor.  If you haven't already, then you need to watch the mini episode, The Night of the Doctor.  A fantastic build up for the 50th anniversary special...

So AWESOME!!!  If only we had TV...unfortunately, I won't be able to see the Day of the Doctor today.  Weep with me, fellow Whovians. ;)

And now, I will leave you with these words of truth...

Happy 50th Anniversary Doctor!!

Snapshots // Meet Jack

Darling, darling Jack.  I do love him so!  Oh, that's right...you don't know who Jack is, do you?

Allow me to introduce you to "Jack", my new camera!!  He's a Nikon D3100 DSLR, which is the kind of camera Kellie's "Algy" is.  And seeing as Kellie's my bestie and our cameras are "brothers", what better name could I bestow upon my darling but Jack Worthing?  Algernon Moncrieff and Jack Worthing are both characters from Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest.  Jack is marvelous!  And he is mine and I love him dearly.

After a few preliminary indoor shots (my daddy had the honor of taking the first picture), Jack and I went for a walk and captured the scenery through his eyes...er, lens.  I am so, so thankful that I invested in a really good camera!  It makes all the difference in the world, as my snowflake photoshoot demonstrates.  Jack later accompanied me to Bible study, where we took pictures of pumpkin pie and one of my favorite little girls, Annie.  Using a good camera doesn't automatically mean you'll take fantastic pictures...but boy, it sure helps! *grin*

Which is your favorite picture?  I want to know!

Snowflakes // New in the Shop

7 Snowflake Ornaments // by Wool & Whatnot

Christmas has arrived at the shop!  These snowflakes are so much fun to make, and I love the way they look on the tree.  Not that we actually have our tree up yet.  I may already be listening to Christmas music, but the tree doesn't go up until after Thanksgiving.  Why not? Ninjas*...  I meant to say, tradition!  But that doesn't stop me from getting super psyched as I finish up my Christmas shopping.  I love finding just the right present for each person on my list, and it's almost more than I can handle, waiting until Christmas for them to find out what I got/made them.  Yes, I love this time of year.

Are you all ready to skip Thanksgiving and get to Christmas?  I want to know!

: :

*An inside joke.  "Ninjas" is our answer to any and every question.
Why are you late?  Ninjas.
What time is it?  Ninjas.
Who the heck came up with Daylight Savings?  Ninjas.
Doth mummy know you weareth her drapes?  Ninjas.
Why haven't I seen Thor 2 yet?  Ninjas.
Doctor who?  Ninjas.
Give it a try!

Snapshots // Autumn 2013

Just random snapshots from September - November that haven't made it to the blog until now.  Enjoy!

Game Night at Laura's house = awesomeness

Merlin with his glow stick collar. ;)

Newport Bluegrass Festival

Surprise packages from dear friends.  Thank you, Winnie!

Tilda with Ty

Poor picture quality, but Bonnie and Merlin looked so cute I had to share it anyway.

Yep, that's me - I got to drag the fields this year.  Tractors are fun!

Guy Fawkes Day...don't ask what we did with our scarecrow once he had a head.  You probably don't want to know...but it was epic.  Just sayin'... ;)

Fall has moved along much  more slowly than my summer did.  It's nice to have a break from all of the hurry.  I must say, it was starting to wear me out!  Now there's time to focus on sticking to my house cleaning schedule (it's more like guidelines than actual rules...), getting the shop stocked and ready for Black Friday, working on Christmas gifts, and getting to bed earlier.  Ha! Like that last one actually happens!  Anyway, it's been a pleasantly restful fall this year, and I'm loving it.

What have you been loving about this fall?  I want to know!

p.s.
I've been thinking that I should have a blog party sometime soon...actually, I just now had that thought.  It's been over a year since my last one.  Any ideas for themes?  I'm thinking of aiming for late March...maybe coincide it with my shop's 3rd anniversary.  Anyway, I'll be thinking about it.
