5. No tagging back
6. And the eleven blogs you tag must have less than 200 followers.

{eleven facts about myself}
seems like every tag/award has "random facts about me" somewhere in there...;)
1. I'm 5' 4.75" tall.
2. I'm a licensed Ham (Amateur) Radio Operator.
3. My favorite season is Fall.
4. I finally stopped biting my fingernails this year.  Yes, I'm ridiculously pleased with myself.
5. I love fried green tomatoes.
6. I was in 4-H for 10 years - my projects were dog, horse, foods and cat.  Cat was excessively boring.
7. My favorite names for my someday (Lord willing) future children are Kenneth, Edmund, David, Kellie, Rose, Josephine, and Olivia.  Possibly Harrison, Sherlock, Marie, Esther, and Ruth as middle names. ;)
8. The stone on my purity ring is my birthstone, aquamarine.
9. Dogs are my favorite animal, especially boxers and border collies.  Of course, I just love animals in general, but dogs are special.
10. I'm struggling to come up with one more fact about myself that you don't already know...
11. I love spicy Mexican food.

{Miss Melody Muffin's questions}

1. What is your favorite flower?
Geraniums...and violets...and lavender...and lilacs. :)

2. Do you plan to see The Hobbit and/or Les Miserables when they come out in December?
Absolutely going to see The Hobbit!!!!!!!  I cannot WAIT!!!!!!!!!! :D  I've yet to read or watch Les Miserables, but it's on my fall/winter reading list, so maybe I will go see it.  Anne Hathaway is a good enough reason on it's own;)

3. If you could wear a dress from any period movie, what would it be?
Goodness, how to decide which one...oh, I know!  Any of the dresses worn by Olivia de Havilland in Captain Blood.  They're absolutely gorgeous, as is Olivia.  Also love her hats.  As far as the usual BBC dramas go, anything worn by Margaret Hale in North & South.  LOVE her outfits so much.

4. Have you read any of Beverly Lewis' Amish fiction books?
Yes!  I love them, but then I've always been fascinated by the Amish.  I think my favorite was the Abram's Daughters series.

5. Do you prefer Mr. Darcy or Mr. Knightley?
Mr. Knightley.  No contest.

6. Have you ever ridden a horse and if so, do you regularly ride?
Yes, I have my own horse (Bob), and I don't ride regularly...yes, I feel guilty about that.  Life is busy.  I did hop on him for a bit the other day though.  It was wonderful.

7. If you could time travel, what historical period would you visit?
The 1940s or the early American frontier or the days of William Wallace in Scotland!

8. What is your favorite hymn?
Be Thou My Vision
Also Day by Day. ;)

9. Who is your favorite poet?
I must confess that I don't read much poetry, but Kellie gave me a book of Emily Dickinson poems for my birthday this year which I'm planning to read this winter.

10. Do you knit, crochet, tat or embroider?
I crochet and embroider, and I'm teaching myself to knit.  I've always wanted to try tatting, too!

11. What is your least favorite book?
Hmm...I'm really at a lose here.  Being as I'm excessively picky about what books I read in the first place, there have only been a few that I didn't enjoy, and those I simply didn't finish.

{11 questions for my awardees to answer}

1. Which is your favorite season? (spring/summer/fall/winter)
2. Do you watch more British TV shows or American?
3. What's your everyday hairstyle?  A ponytail, a braid, a bun?
4. Do you sew most of your own clothes or buy them?
5. In what year did Columbus sail the ocean blue?
6. Favorite screen/literary couple?
7. Which is your favorite/most read book of the Bible?  (not including Psalms and Proverbs;)
8. Your favorite TV show when you were a child?
9. Least favorite vegetable?
10. Do you watch the Marvel Superhero films?  If so, which is your favorite superhero and why?
11. Do you think bow ties are cool?

  1. I love spicy mexican food too. All I ever want to cook is mexican. There is nothing that smells more wonderful than cilanto and limes together. My parents think I'm crazy.
Now I want to go make tacos.

  2. Ooooooooh that is SO COOL that you're a Ham Radio operator!!!

How did you go about stopping biting your nails? I can't seem to manage it. :)

God bless! And thanks for the award. :)

  3. You must must MUST read Les Miserables! It's fantastic. It's very long, and at times Victor Hugo goes into philosophical rants/inquiries that must be read slowly or otherwise it'll all go straight over your head--whoosh!--but it's so good. One of the older movies (starring Richard Jordan and Anthony Perkins) was a favorite in our family long before I ever read it. And the musical...oh, I'm gonna dare to say it's even better than The Phantom of the Opera.

So cool that you're a Ham operator! My brother, who's very interested in it, will be very impressed when I tell him :)

Thanks so much for awarding me! I don't think I know eleven bloggers to tag, but I'll be sure to tag the ones I know who aren't already on this list ;)

  4. Oh, you will LOVE Les Miserables! I urge everyone I know to read it-- and then go see the musical. Because it's phenomenal. UNBELIEVABLE. Just ask Alexandra, she'll go into even more raving than I will. :D

Love that dress in the picture, by the way! Is Captain Blood a family-friendly movie? Would you recommend it for a family with kids under 10? I'm always on the lookout for good old movies for family night... (ha, I was going to say "new old movies" but then decided that was too ridiculous).

  5. Thanks for the Award! Like Maribeth, I don't know many other bloggers, but it'll be fun to answer the questions. :-D

Congrats on quitting the nail-biting habit!

Here's a synopsis of Les Miserables if you're interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Miserables

Myself, I'd rather see The Hobbit! :-D

    TTYL, lassie! <3
    God bless,

  6. I LOVE fall too! My favorite season hands down. Yes, reading Victor Hugo's Les Miserables and The Hunchback of Notre Dame are a must. Then watch Les Mis movie or at least listen to the soundtrack. Fabulous!

I agree with you that pretty much animals of any kind are quite wonderful. It is totally understandable, however, that Bonnie wins your heart! She has the cutest and most personable face. She also knows how to do her best dog smile whenever the camera is on her. That ham Girl!!

  7. Oh, I love violets and the dresses worn by Olivia de Haviland in "Captain Blood" too. And Margaret's clothes in N&S.

Three cheers for Mr. Knightley! And I quite agree, there's no contest.

Oh, and thank you for tagging me!

  8. I think I jumped up and down and waved inside when I read one of your planned-for children's names is "Kellie." I consider that name AND that spelling to be pretty tops. :)

I hopped on over from Little Lady's blog after she answered your questions! I'm sure I'll be back. :)

  10. I love dogs too. One day I'll probably have about a dozen of them. :P I love corgis and schnausers, german shepherds and collies.(: I just love dogs in general, I suppose!

Thank you for tagging me! I've been tagged so many times over the past couple of months, and I kept forgetting to do them...bah. But I think I finally figured out a solution...haha. At the end f each outfit post I do, I'll respond to one tag, then at the end post my questions and who I've awarded. :P A little unorthodox...but I think it'll work.(; I just did yours--it's up on the blog right now!(: Great questions by the way!

  11. Kimberly - "There is nothing that smells more wonderful than cilanto and limes together." Oh, amen to that! =)

Treskie - Well, I would usually bite my nails when I was nervous or watching an exciting movie. lol. So, I crochet while I'm watching movies to keep my hands busy or I file my nails instead. I also just decided that I just wasn't going to bite them. If I started to, I'd stop myself and fold my arms or something to keep my hands from being "available". ;) It did work eventually.
You're very welcome for the award!

Maribeth - Long and philosophical rants I can deal with. I love reading big, thick, classics;)

Ham radio is a lot of fun. *grin*

You're welcome. I think this is the first time I've come up with the required amount of bloggers to tag;)

Miss Dashwood - Hehe, if I ever need a nudge to get me going on Les Miz, I'll definitely talk to Ally. ;D

There were a few scenes in Captain Blood that might be too scary for younger kids. Peter Blood is a slave for a while, and there is some slave related cruelty, including a man being branded on the face. Of course, being an older film (1935) it's not really graphic, but it's still scary. There isn't any objectionable content, though. I'd suggest previewing it first before letting younger kids watch it, especially since every family is different. :)

    Tom - You're welcome:)
    Haha, thank you! ;)

    Yay for The Hobbit!!!

Winnie - I've read The Hunchback of Notre Dame before and enjoyed it a lot. Can't wait to dig into Les Miserables!

Hehe, Bonnie is quite a ham;)

    Hanne-col - You're welcome! :)

Kellie - My best friend's name is Kellie, so I'm rather fond of that name and spelling;)
Thanks for stopping by! Hope to "see" you here again!

Amy - I had a lot of fun getting my license. My dad and mom both have theirs, and my dad taught a class for our homeschool group.

Vicki - Yep, I'm totally going to have lots and lots of dogs! Ooh, I LOVE corgis, too!! Hehe, same here. Dogs are so wonderful.

You're welcome! I loved reading your answers:)

I can hardly wait for the blog fest... Dr. Who here I come! (on that note, what exactly are the rules on that thing? And, could you tell me this, because I'm an idiot, how exactly do I play?)
    God Bless
