{outfit} So Snoody

I was inspired to make a snood after reading this post at Noir Girl.
I'm planning on adding a bow to the top, but haven't gotten around to that yet.

snood.....crocheted by me
purple 3/4 sleeve v-neck t-shirt.....Fred Meyer
purple four tier skirt.....made by me
flannel petticoat/slip (under the skirt;).....made by me
boots....Foot Smart, maybe

So, what do you think about snoods?  Would you wear one?
Do let me know your thoughts:)

And speaking of my shop...oh, we weren't?  Well, now we are:)
I've got a few projects in the works that I will be sharing with you later...
And the surprise which I alluded to in my last Miscellany post=)

Happy Trails, y'all!

  1. Your snood turned out really cute! I used to be obsessed with these when I was ten or so, and I do still have one! I'm still trying to find a way to style it that I like, but I'm sure I will eventually! And I love Noir Girl's idea of putting your hair in a bun so it all gets into the snood (genius!).
Ooh, and I love all the shades of purple in your outfit! Cute!

  2. Ahhh! You look so adorable! =)
The first picture is absolutely amazing. The camera focused on your intricate and swoon-worthy snood perfectly.
    And pincurls! Yes.
My silly hair is so long that by the time I get a section rolled up and pinned, it looks like a young volcano sitting there;D

You look so, so, so cute. In case I didn't already mention that.
    Love,
    ~Me~

    P.S. I would *definitely* wear one! ;)
P.S.S. So excited for the surprise...

  3. The snood is really cute on you and so practical for long hair in the winter! And I love that tiered skirt you made too. But I am equally fascinated with the idea of a flannel slip. How perfect for your area of the country. I love long old fashioned slips and flannel sounds just fun and classy. You mentioned that purple was your favorite color and I agree that it looks very becoming on you. This is a lovely outfit you have put together and you look so pretty. And if you get around to adding a bow to the snood, give us a peak-- I think it could be a cute addition. Snow and cold-- it looks like a fairytale to me as it was 82 degrees and humid here this afternoon.!! I am in short sleeves as ii write this reply sitting outside in a lawn chair!!

  4. Thank you ladies:)

Vicki - I agree! Putting your hair in a bun and then in the snood is definitely genius!

Kellie - *smile* Thanks, dear;) As far as pincurls go...I wonder if you could use one strand of hair for multiple curls. Just a thought:)

Winnie - My flannel slip has become a necessity in my winter wardrobe! Keeps me nice a toasty and transforms skirts I would otherwise only use during warm weather, into winter skirts.
82 degrees, short sleeves, and a lawn chair sounds like a fairytale to me!;)

  6. Lol @ the last comment because its a boy.

Love the pictures. You wear a snood well :) and I would try it. It's very different than the modern fashion and would be fun.

  7. Hello!

I have a snood that I bought a vintage store and I really like it.
I haven't had the courage to wear it in public yet.

P.S. Was it hard to crochet it?
Also is there a pattern for it?

  8. Hello there, Ella!
Snoods are so much fun! Actually, I haven't worn mine in a while. I'm going to have to do that:)
It wasn't hard to crochet at all! Here's the pattern I used...
