Photo a Day // March // Week One

O N E | I don't always like the way Nutella tastes, but sometimes I just need some chocolate.  Any chocolate!

T W O | Mirror shots will never not be fun.  Getting better at manual focus, I think.

T H R E E | Beautiful horse hair bracelet made by my friend Dinah Raye.
Check out her Etsy shop Pony Tails Designs and give her some favorites love!

F O U R | Horse hair hatband, modeled by my bro.

F I V E | What did I just say about mirror shots?

S I X | Best friends. Love how Merlin is resting his paw on Bonnie's muzzle. :)

Another week almost done and gone!  It's so creepy how the older you get, the faster time seems to move.  It used to take forever for Christmas or my birthday to come around.  Now I blink, and we're there.  At least, that's how it seems most of the time.  Time flies.

Next week on Monday I'm going in for my Open Arms PCC volunteer interview.  I'm not really nervous, especially since my friend Liz is doing the interviewing, but I would still appreciate your prayers on that day.  I can't wait to get started and see what the Lord has in store for me and those I'll be working with!

But right now, I'm looking forward to an evening spent with my friends watching Thor 2: The Dark World!  I haven't seen it yet, so I'm SUPER excited!!  Eeep!!!

And now I've got to get back to work.  The rocking chair, yarn, crochet hook, and Once Upon a Time are calling my name... ;)

Which is your favorite of the pictures?
What did you do this week?
Have you seen Thor 2?
I want to know!

In the Orchard // Apple Picking

A happy day spent in the orchard picking apples, and laughing until my side hurt watching the antics of Merlin and Bonnie playing together.  Those two have become fast friends, although Bonnie is overwhelmed sometimes by the amount of energy Merlin has.  He's not afraid of her at all, and is the most playful kitty I've ever seen!  Always playing with something - Bonnie's stubby tail, her ears and paws, leaves, bushes, blades of grass, and sometimes rocks!  When he's not playing, he's 'stalking' the big kitties (and sometimes my sheep! lol!).  Muffin gives him a gentle beating every once in a while to keep him in line, and Mitts is still adjusting to having another cat around.  I was happy to see him hanging out with all of us in the orchard and tolerating Merlin.  I'm so blessed to have these wonderful critters in my life...and to have homegrown apples!

What has been blessing you lately?  I want to know!

Here, kitty kitty...

Ladies and gents, it gives me great pleasure to introduce you to my newest critter.
If you guessed I was getting a cat/kitten, then you are 100% correct!  Folks, say hello to Merlin...

It didn't take too long to come up with a name for this fluffy grey cutie.  Merlin just fits him.  He's extremely playful, has the Bonnie dog buffaloed, and fell asleep in my lap last night.  Poor little guy spent most of yesterday riding in cars and locked up in a kennel cage.  My friend's brought him with them to church where we made the switch, but "mommy" sort of abandoned him to run off to a Bluegrass festival at the last minute.  I kept calling my bro to make sure he didn't leave him at church. *wink*

Happy Trails!

p.s.
The Bluegrass was totally worth it, btw.  I knew it would be.
Time spent with good friends is always worth it.

Wallpaper Wednesday | Merlin

Well hello there, everyone!   I'm feeling very bubbly and joyful this morning...which is unusual for me, at least before noon.  *grin*  Definitely extremely excited about my Grandma's visit - she's going to be here in 3 days!!!!  That's my excuse for excessive use of this "!" during the next week.

Anyway, time for Wallpaper Wednesday!   I'd really like this to be a weekly deal, but the thing is you can't force creativity.  Either it happens or it doesn't.  This past week though, after finding all of those lovely high-res images for Merlin, my creativity has been rushing along like an out-of-control truck...or something like that.  Hours spent in my room, hunched over Della (my laptop), watching Ivanhoe (BBC), guzzling copious amounts of tea and hot chocolate...it ain't always pretty, but it works for me.

The results thus far, are these...

- All pictures link to their full size image and are also available on the For You page. -

To say I love the way these two wallpapers turned out, is a gross understatement.   I LOVE the way these turned out!!  That's a bit better.   I also have one for Gwen and one for Morgana in the works, but they aren't quite ready to share yet.  Maybe next week...we shall see. ;)

Happy Trails, y'all!

I ♥ Thursday | no. 7

This week I'm lovin'...

Bradley James & Colin Morgan singing/miming You're the Voice by John Farnham.
Even if you don't watch Merlin, this video is a scream!  Seriously, do yourself a favor and watch it...

I love the friendship between those two.  It really comes through in their performances as Arthur and Merlin...even though Arthur is a dollop head most of the time.   A lovable dollop head, to be sure...with an adorable smile.  *grin*

And yes, I have that song stuck in my head...and now you do, too.  You're welcome.

I'm also loving the beautiful costumes in Merlin...

Who doesn't love a flowing red cloak, and there are plenty to be had in this show, believe me!
I love the jewel tones worn by Morgana - green, red, purple, blue - and also the softer pastels worn by Gwen - lavender, peachy pink, pale gold and blue.

Also, the horses in this show are drop-dead-gorgeous!!!   See for yourselves...

I found all of these beautiful, high-res images at this website.  They have hundreds of high-res images, both promotional and from the episodes themselves, including screencaps.  It's not often you find a site like this, folks, and my little graphic design loving heart almost stopped.  I was just a few steps away from hyperventilating, as my brother can attest to since I dragged him over to see all of the beautiful pictures. *grin*  Yeah, high-res excites me.  And yes, you will be seeing Merlin wallpapers soon! ;)

Happy Trails, y'all!
