I ♥ Thursday | no. 5

This week I'm lovin'...

Country Peach Passion tea...with a bit of honey...*bliss*
And it's good hot or iced.   Love it!

I'm also loving...

I've always loved Converse All-Stars, even before I discovered Doctor Who and met the FABULOUS 10th Doctor.  Kellie can back me up on that;)

They're just so fun.  I love wearing them with denim skirts.  Unfortunately, my pair are getting a bit ragged and are unfit for wearing other than around the property.
I guess I need a new pair, huh? ;)

I LOVE this 10th Doctor inspired outfit...

Especially the skirt - LOVE the skirt.  And the Doctor. ;)

And so much for not mentioning Doctor Who in this post.  I was making a feeble attempt to curb my obsession...eh, why even try? :)
A friend and I were talking on chat last night and he suggested (jokingly) that I take something for my Doctor Who obsession.  I replied, "I already have...the Doctor recommends time travel."
*grin*

Happy trails, y'all!

Tea at the Prairie Cottage

You're never to old to dress-up and have a tea party.
I've always loved tea parties, as evidenced by the fact that most of my birthday parties involved a tea party.
doll tea parties
princess tea parties
a Miss Moon tea party

{did anyone else read the Tea Party of Miss Moon by Princess Mary Thurn-Taxis when they were little?  I don't remember much about it actually, but my mom loved the story and gave me a Miss Moon themed party when I was little.  Probably four-years-old.  My two older cousins even dressed up as some of the characters:)  But I'm heading down a rabbit trail here...}

I had the pleasure of attending a beautiful tea party at the Prairie Cottage, Rebekah's house (known as Wild Rose on my blog)

Before taking tea, we strolled about the beautiful yard...

And took many pictures...of course;)

Rebekah cut a gorgeous bouquet of flowers for our table.

I love dandelions.  I've never thought of them as weeds.  They're too beautiful and amazing.

With such beautiful green grass, a photoshoot seemed in order...

Rebekah and I - it was perfectly delightful to finally meet you, Rebekah!

And the beautiful Kellie...

always adorable

Kellie and Rebekah

Um...all I'm gonna say, is she started it.
;D

Lovely Rebekah

Isn't her hair beautiful?!

......Rebekah................Tasha................Kellie......

have you ever tried to blow a dandelion while you were laughing?

it doesn't work very well

finally, success

Rebekah did it in one take...

And, after our cheeks all hurt from laughing and smiling so much, we went inside for our tea party...

This had to be the most delicious tea party I've ever been to.

 ~* menu *~
cucumber sandwiches
chicken sandwiches
shortbread
scones with devonshire cream and jam
cookies
fruit
nut cups
chocolate mints
and tea

Hallo! Why all these cups? Why cucumber sandwiches? Why such reckless extravagance in one so young? Who is coming to tea?

Rebekah, everything was absolutely wonderful!!
Thank you so much for inviting me:)

I hope you all had a wonderful day!

P.S.
My family and I are on a short trip to Yellowstone right now, but the camp ground has WiFi, so I'll still be in touch. :)
I'll be sharing pics when I get home.
Happy Trails, y'all!

A Random Posting of Pictures

I decided I'd better post some of the pictures I've been meaning to post now, instead of waiting for more to pile up on me...

...~...~...~...~...~...~...

What have we here?

Sense & Sensibility!  (1995)

Methinks it's time for an afternoon of Regency {bliss} and tea.

Whenever I bring a new movie home for my mom, we have a little tea party, just for fun.  :)
It's become a delightful tradition which we both enjoy very much.

Lemon shortbread cookies - oh, yummy.

{Lest you think I'm some kind of baking whiz, those are store bought cookies}

My favorite teacup, given to me by my dear Kellie.

One of the things I'll splurge on...

...vintage books!

They look simply smashing on my shelf:)

...~...~...~...~...~...~...

And speaking of vintage, here's what my mom and I have been working on...

Meet Nancy.   Nancy is a very special young lady - she belonged to my Grandma Barb (my mom's mom) when she was a girl.
Now she's my mom's, and someday she'll be mine...and someday I'll give her to my children, if I ever have any.

Yes, Nancy is very special.  Someday I'll have to take pictures of Nancy's other clothes, some of which were sewn by hand by my Great Grandmother Annie.

My mom and I are working on restoring Nancy's trunk.  The original paper is crumbling off and, as you can see, there is some water damage.

Alex cleaned all of the metal hardware off with steal wool.   I wish I had before pictures - they were simply covered in rust.
We couldn't believe the difference!

More crocheted creations coming soon, too!

Congratulations!  You've made it to the end of this post!  ;)
