I was planning on posting something on this date and after clicking around the internet this morning I see that I am not alone in this. Very fun:)
In honor of 11/11/11 here are eleven things...
1. It looks like we're going to get our first somewhat official snow tonight. =)
2. I love the snow, but I wouldn't mind if it held off until we bring my ewes home from visiting Earl the ram. Their driveway is not fun when there's snow on the ground, especially if you're pulling a horse trailer. But we'll make it work if we have to.
3. Tomorrow is the Fall Folk Festival in Spokane. Music, music, music... And to make it even more fun, we're kidnapping Kellie and bringing her, too! We're planning on wearing our matching grey sweaters:)
4. The bands I'm looking forward to hearing are The North Idaho Hat Band (my brother's band), and The Portatos.
5. Chip from Chipmunk's Corner plays her accordion with The Portatos. Kellie, who is an excellent accordionist herself, has been wanting to meet her for a long time. And now she's going to. :)
6. A warm mug of hot chocolate on a frosty morning is heavenly.
7. Something the Lord has been reminding me of lately is how much He loves me. The fact that He loves me still blows my mind whenever I think about it. He loves me. Wow.
8. I've been figuring out what to get my family for Christmas. My dad is so hard to buy for. Anybody else have trouble buying for their dad? Alex is easy - a Cabelas gift card will do nicely. I think I'm going to buy Ben-Hur (with Charlton Heston) for my mom. She loves that movie. Me too, but that's beside the point...;) I know what I'm going to get my cousins, but I can't tell you because Abbie and Sarah Jo read this blog.
9. I'm trying in vain to think of something I can make for Kellie's little sisters. I always give them "Tasha-made-its". A Tasha-made-it is something I've crocheted and sometimes something I've sewn. Last year they all got hooded scarves. I'll think of something...
10. Psst - 50 followers could possibly bring on a giveaway. Just sayin'...
11. I've got to come up with an outfit for today's Fall Fashion Challenge. The theme is "your favorite 2011 fall trend".
Have a lovely day, y'all!

Open Arms Benefit Concert
Friday night's Open Arms Benefit Concert was phenomenal. Period.
All of the bands sounded absolutely fantastic, and I felt so incredibly blessed to be there, to be just a small part of it all, and so proud (in a good way:) of Alex and my other "brothers".
And, I didn't get a headache! Woohoo!!!!! Listening to loud music for several hours without a break usually gives me a headache, so I was really happy about that!=D
Furthermore, to crown it all, I got to hold an absolutely beautiful baby girl!
I have to tell you all, that it was an answered prayer. I knew that Molly (one of the Panhandle Polecats) had had a new baby, and I wanted to hold her so bad. I love babies, but rarely get an opportunity to hold one. So, I prayed that I would get to hold her.
Darling, almost 2 months old, baby Ruth:)
My family and I were sitting and watching the Polecats getting ready for their sound check before the performance. Molly was late, and when she got there, the rest of her siblings (the Polecats) told her to "hand the baby to someone!" Well, I happened to be that someone:)
No, it wasn't chance - it was providence. You see, normally Molly's parents would have held the baby for her, but they weren't there yet. It was a special gift from the Lord for me, and the best part of the evening. I just had to share that story with y'all:)
Okay, on to the music...
The North Idaho Hat Band goes "cool", as they whip out their ultra cool sunglasses for Minor Swing;)

The Panhandle Polecats - btw, I am excessively sorry that all of these pictures are so blurry. It was a combination of my unsteady hand and the lighting. My apologies...
The Riders of the Rockin' B Ranch - Mr. and Mrs. Brownlee brought their whole cowboy supper show (minus the supper;) and put on an outstanding performance!
Their rousing rendition of The William Tell Overture, aka the Lone Ranger theme song, complete with pistol shot! That got quite a reaction, let me tell you=) No worries - it was a blank, or so we assume as no ceiling plaster fell down;D
And that's all folks!
Happy trails!

The Rockin' B Ranch
This Thursday was the Hat Band's last opportunity to play at the Rockin' B Ranch Cowboy Supper Show for the season. They got to play once a month this year as the pre-show. Many of the other local bands have this opportunity as well.
Kellie and Grampy came with us this time=)
Grampy is Mrs. F's dad, who was visiting this past week.
Dad and the boys - it's hard to get good pictures at the Rockin' B because it's so dark inside.
Thank goodness for Photoshop!=)
I'm so glad you and Grampy were able to come, Kellie:)
Happy Trails, folks!

What I found on our camera card...
The guys at the Rockin' B Ranch, on opening night (the same night Dad and I went to the rally)
The boys at the Rockin' B on Rockin' Bluegrass night. The Hat Band was one of four featured bands.
Ha! You're not so big now, Alex!;) Yeah, in my dreams=)
Mitts took shelter in a rather interesting spot during a thunderstorm:)
I love the way the tree tops show up in contrast to the black storm cloud!
Our container garden - potatoes and peas, I believe.
Speaking of gardens...
Now here's a garden!
The Fs have a lovely garden this year, with pretty much every plant imaginable in it.
How many people does it take to plant potatoes?
Well, in this case it took six - one to plant them, and five to watch. But isn't that how it always is?
I don't know that we did much to help plant the garden, but it was sure nice to see the Fs, and we all had a good time...I think:) The little girls were very well behaved, but the "big" kids...well, we won't go there;) Yup, we had fun=)
This is at the sheep farm that Alex is buying six lambs and one ewe from. The lambs will be butchered this fall, of course, but he'll be keeping the ewe for breeding.
The farmer's lovely Great Pyrenees dog had a litter of puppies - good thing I didn't go with them to the farm. I would have taken one of those cuties home!:) Or maybe two...;)
This is the ewe that Alex is buying. She's 2 years old, and she had her first lamb this year, which is coming with her. We'll be bringing them to our house around the end of July.
Ahh yes...tar=)
Yes, today I got to paint tar onto the potato cellar we are putting in=)
Tar is actually quite interesting...and messy. Note: I put on old clothes for this job, and wore a baseball cap - I sure didn't want any tar in my hair!
Anyone got some feathers?!
It's, it's...nooooo! the TAR MONSTER! Aggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I used about five pairs of vinyl gloves all told - they got messy rather quickly.
Alex - always original...
and funny...

What in tar-nation's goin' on 'round here?!
