Today is a simply gorgeous day!  Blue skies and sun! =D

Have you heard the news?  My dearest Kellie is hosting...

Yesterday, I discovered a marvelous blog - a blog devoted entirely to The Scarlet Pimpernel!  =D

The Day Dream

Sink me!

My latest obsession is the 60s TV series Mission: Impossible.
It. is. awesome. period.

The Impossible Missions Force team from seasons 2 and 3....
Cinnamon Carter, Rollin Hand, Willie Armitage, Barney Collier and Jim Phelps.

Rollin, the Man of a Million Faces, is completely awesome.

Even my incredibly picky friend Ani (Matthew), agrees with me on that. ;)

Fun Fact: Martin Landau (Rollin) and Barbara Bain (Cinnamon) were married.  It's always fun to see a husband and wife together in film. :)

Ok, enough MI...for now;)

My actor for this week is Charlton Heston.
I requested as many of his films as possible from the library.
I'm quite steeped at this point.
Recommended flicks:
The Ten Commandments
El Cid
The Big Country
Charlton Heston did much of his own driving in the chariot race.  Very cool=)

One that I haven't watched yet is The Far Horizons.  It's the story of the Lewis and Clark Corp of Discovery.  Highly fictionalized, I imagine, and with a rather interesting cast including Fred McMurray, Donna Reed and Charlton Heston.  I'll let you know how that goes. :)

I think it's time I got outside and enjoyed the delicious weather.
Have a wonderful, blessed day everyone!

  1. It's a beautiful sunny blue skies day here as well! It's feeling more like spring than winter right now...

    1. That's what it's been feeling like here, too!

  2. The scarlet pimpernel is my absolute favorite!!

  3. And here I thought my brother and I were the only ones of our generation who knew about the *real* Mission: Impossible. ^_^ My biggest beef is the stereotypical sleazy role Barbara Bain always had to play. *gag*
Martin Landau was, IMHO, the best actor on the show. His leaving made a big hole that never really got filled up.

    God bless,
    ~"Wild Rose"~

    1. Yay! More MI fans!! =D
Yeah, I know what you mean - I didn't much care for Cinnamon in Season 1, and was relieved that her character greatly improved in Seasons 2 and 3.
Oh, Martin Landau was without a doubt the best actor in the show! Whenever he's on screen, my bro and I chant "Rollin, Rollin, Rollin..." *grin*
I was devastated (well, as much as you can be over a TV series;) when I found out he's only in the first 3 seasons. :(
Something else my bro and I do, is make fun of Willie. He just totally cracks us up and we can't take him seriously. ;D

  4. PERCY!!!!
I've seen all of the Charlton Heston movies listed, and the only one I really like him in is the Big Country (for reasons unbeknownst to me. Maybe it's the cowboy thing.) And GO ROLLIN! He was my favorite for a while, but then it switched to Barney. =) I love Barney.

(Another fun fact: Martin Landau and Steve McQueen♥ went to acting school together.)

    1. @Mirriam - I absolutely LOVE The Big Country!! Westerns are just about my favorite movie genre.
Barney is probably my 2nd favorite character. He's definitely cool:)
And that is such a cool fun fact! I just love Steve McQueen=D

    2. I love Steve McQueen, too - I'm a walking encyclopedia about him. *grins* The Magnificent Seven and the Great Escape are two of my favorite movies of all-time! When I ran across your blog I sat there going "Wait... Wait... she could be my TWIN!" =D
      ~ Mirriam

    3. Hehe - I'm totally getting to that point. I randomly tell people, whether they want to hear it or not, facts about Steve and my other favorite actors and actresses;)
      Yes! I LOVE those movies!!
I just checked out your blog, and I think you're right - we could totally be twins=D

  5. HAHA; I do that too!!! But especially Steve =) Have you see the Wanted Dead or alive TV show? Mom and Dad surprised me on Christmas by getting me all three seasons! Needless to say, the reaction was quite... um, vocal. =D
YAY! I have a twin! This is awesome. =D

    1. I LOVE Wanted: Dead or Alive!! You really can't overdoes on Steve;) That's so cool that you got it for Christmas!=) It's definitely on my wish list:)
*grin* Have a lovely day, twin;)

  6. I KNOW, right? Totally impossible to overdose on Steve =) From the Blob to the Great Escape, he's just... Steve. He's awesome. *grin*
Have a great day, too! (I'm sorry this is so late. I totally forgot we were having a *cough* conversation...)

  7. Ah! I've been wanting to see The Blob! I love old sci-fi movies anyway, but with Steve... *swoon* ;)
    He is totally awesome. *grin*
    No problem:)

  8. Haha! I just found The Blob on YouTube. My bro and I are watching and screaming/laughing with delight. Yes, it's getting late;)
    Steve is SO cute<3

  9. OHMYGOODNESS, I KNOW!!! The scene where he drives backwards has me in giggling hysterics EVERY TIME. My sister and I watched it like 3 nights in a row we liked it so much. *falls over laughing*

  10. YES!!! I love that scene! So totally a "Steve moment";) I pretty much just sat through the whole movie squealing and saying "He's soooo cute!" Thankfully, my bro is used to it;D
I need to watch that movie again...=)
Besides The Great Escape, The Mag 7, and The Blob, are their any of Steve's movies that you can recommend?

  11. I KNOW, RIGHT!? I did that through the whole movie too XD And the second time. And the third. *sigh*
Ooohhhhh.... Wanted: Dead or Alive TV shows, definitely. But other than that, sadly, I haven't seen any - oh, he was in a Twilight Zone (2, actually) that were very interesting *grin*
