Gallop. Slide. Buck. Snort.

Every spring, when I let the horses out to pasture for the first time, they put on a show for me...

As usual, Bob (in the middle) takes little, if any, part in the wild, joyful capering of the other two.

The reckless galloping.  The sliding stops.  The bucking.  The snorting.  It's truly a sight to behold!

No, Bob gets down to the business of eating as soon as he possibly can. ;)

Freckles (in the foreground) runs, and runs, and runs.  He may be in his late 20's, but he's still going strong!

Bobby boy - my wonderful Prince Charming. :)

The Seasons of Our Life

Where I live, in beautiful North Idaho, spring has finally arrived!
I'm so thankful that God created seasons not only in nature, but in our lives.

There are so many seasons in our lives, and, although they aren't always pleasant, we can learn and grow from each one.   God uses the trials and troubles in our lives to shape and mold us into the image of Christ...if we let Him.

The Lord is our Strength

For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?
It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
Psalm 18:29-34

Two things in these verses jumped out at me...
  •  God is our strength,
  • and He will give us the strength we need for every situation in life.
I have a problem with controlling my tongue - it's not an uncommon problem.
Proverbs is full of verses about bridling our tongues, so it seems to be something that a lot of people struggle with, even in Biblical times...read more.

Wallpaper Wednesday

I know it's been awhile since I've shared any new wallpaper creations with y'all.
I'm not going to blame it on life being busy, because it hasn't been any busier than usual.  I just needed a short break from blogging apparently:)

Anyway, I think the wait will be worth it, as I have four new wallpapers for your use and enjoyment!

First up, we have Gary Cooper and Jean Arthur in...Mr. Deeds Goes to Town!

I picked this movie up at the library because it was a Frank Capra film and because I love Jean Arthur.
I was not disappointed.
Mr. Deeds is content and happy living in Mandrake Falls and playing his tuba in the town band, with no desire to change.   But change comes his way in the form of a 20 million dollar inheritance.
I highly recommend this film, especially if you're a fan of Capra's films.

Next we have one of my favorite BBC miniseries....North & South!

{full size image located on the Graphic Design page}

North & South is not just another fluffy romance, nor is it about the Civil War, which one might assume from the title.

It's industrial (the North) versus country (the South), conflicts between social classes, and, yes, an unlikely romance, all set in 19th century England.
I love all of the suspense, the glimpses of life from the very poor to the rich and how the different classes respond to each other.
Margaret's outfits are just lovely - I totally need to recreate some of them someday.  And I love her hair!
And the intense, passionate Mr. Thornton, portrayed by Richard Armitage, is indeed a swoon worthy hero. ;)
Can you ask for more?

(Just as a warning, there are some rather violent scenes, mainly a man getting beat up (very brief) and a riot.  This film is not rated as it was made for TV, but I would rate it PG.)

Have a lovely day, y'all!
