50 Questions Tag

Hello everyone!  Goodness, I needed a rest after Doctor Who week!  So much fun, but it was a bit tiring mentally as well.   I'm sorry I haven't responded to any comments lately - I fully intend to do that this coming week.  Also, I'll be announcing the contest winners and the button badge giveaway winner this week, so stay tuned!

And now for a random tag which I found on Ally's blog and also on Never Grow Up.  It looked like fun, so I thought "why not?"  Besides, when have I ever been able to resist a tag?  Here goes...

1. Are you young at heart, or an old soul?
Definitely young at heart...seeing as I'm only 23, I should hope so! ;)

2. What Christmas present do you remember the most?
Like Ally, my American Girl doll, only mine was/is Kirsten. :)   Actually, I got Felicity for Christmas too, several years later, but Kirsten was my first.  I played with them and carried them around with me until I was 15, and they still have a special place in my room.

3. Name one physical feature that you like about yourself, and one you don't like.
I like my eyes and hair.  I DO NOT like my nose.  I've finally learned to live with it, but I really don't like it.  Which is why, when watching movies with me, you'll hear me say, "Wow!  That guy has a nice nose!"  Yeah, I notice noses. ;)

4. What holiday do you most look forward to?
Christmas, of course!! =D

5. How is the relationship between you and your parents?
Pretty good.  My mom and I are very, very close.  I tell her everything.  My dad and I, not so much.  We get a long alright, but we're both quite stubborn.  I inherited much of my personality from him and sometimes there are major clashes of wills and opinions.  But I love him so much, and I know he loves me, so it's all good in the end. :)

6. You've got the TV on, but you're not really watching. What channel is the TV on?
We don't get TV.  If we did, I would watch the Turner Classic Movie channel.  *bliss*  And between that and the internet I wouldn't get anything done, so it's a good thing we don't get it. ;)

7. If you could pick anywhere to live the rest of your life, where would it be?
Right here in North Idaho!  I love it here so much, and Lord willing will never, ever leave.

8. Have you ever spent a night in the hospital?
Aside from when I was born, nope.

9. Do you enjoy being with only one or two friends, or with a large group of people?
Usually I prefer the company of one, sometimes two, close friends.  However, I love the occasional good, noisy get together with a large group of good friends!

10. Do you like the type of music your parents listen to? Do your parents like the type of music you listen to?
Yep.  We all like Bluegrass, some Christian contemporary and movie soundtracks...plus a lot of eclectic  weird songs that make us laugh.  Although, I also really love bagpipe music and none of them are very wild about that.

11. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Potatoes...or pizza.

12. Do you believe in a god?
I absolutely believe that there is one true God, and that His son Jesus died for my sins and saved me.

13. What's you're favorite hashtag to track?
I'm on Twitter, but I haven't the foggiest idea what the hashtags are all about. *shrug*

14. When you were young, what would you dream you would be when you grew up?
A mom. :)  I also considered dog grooming, dog training, professional horse eventing, vet tech, and other animal related careers.  None of those ever came to anything, although I would still be interested in dog training as a side business.  Maybe some day...

15. Do you want to have more friends than you have right now?
Nope.  I mean, I'm always open to making new friends, but I've always preferred to just have a few really good friends.

16. Have you ever met someone through the Internet, then met them in real life?
Yes!  You can read about it here and here.

17. Tell me about the last book you read.
I haven't had as much time for reading lately, but I think it was a Beverly Lewis Amish fiction and I liked it.  I'm currently reading All Things Wise and Wonderful by James Herriot.   He's probably my favorite author ever and I'm loving it.

18. Predict what your life will look like a year from now.
Oh dear...I don't think I will.  There are a lot of new and exciting things going on in my life, and I wouldn't want to predict where they might be heading.  Just praying that the Lord's will be done in all things.

19. Early bird or night owl?
Definitely night owl!  No doubt about that.  Especially if I have a book to finish or a sewing project I'm working on...and that's what I'll be doing tonight.  Watching a movie and sewing like mad!

20. Where do you live? Be as general or specific as you want.
Idaho.  Specifically the panhandle.  It's absolutely beautiful here.

21. What was the longest car ride you've ever taken?
When we drove across the US to the east coast to visit family in North Carolina.

22. What is your ethnic heritage?
On my mom's side Austrian (still have family there) and some French.  On my dad's side Ukrainian (as you could tell if you knew my last name, but it's so unique I don't share it online - we literally know and are related to everyone with our name;) and Polish, with a bit of French, Irish and Scottish thrown in for good measure.  I love studying my family's roots, and one of my dad's aunts has done a considerable amount of research, so that's fun.

23. Do you want to live until you're 100?
I'm content to live however many days the Lord has for me, but I honestly don't think I'd want to live that long.

24. Do you practice what you preach?
I sincerely hope so.

25. Have you ever laughed uncontrollably when it was socially inappropriate?
Only all the time. ;)

26. Do you often skip breakfast?
Yes.  Usually because I forget to eat.  Eating/food is not a real big deal to me.

27. Would you want to know the exact date and time you were going to die?
Goodness me, NO!!  How horrible would that be?!

28. Describe your neighborhood.
Rural.  Mountains.  A dirt/gravel road in the country.  We know all our neighbors for several properties over on both sides of us, although we don't see them socially very often.

29. Name a TV series you didn't enjoy until after it ended.
Most TV series that I watch are from the 50s and 60s, so they're definitely over.  Wanted: Dead or Alive, Andy Griffith, Leave it to Beaver, Dennis the Menace, Mission: Impossible, Get Smart, Gilligan's Island, etc.  The few modern shows I watch are Doctor Who, Sherlock and Merlin, all of which are still running.

30. Have you ever bought a product from an informercial?
Nope.

31. What is one thing you could never forgive?
Betrayal.  Loyalty is very important to me.

32. What part of the past year sticks out in your mind?
Renewing old friendships, finding a good church.

33. What is your favorite sport?
I don't really do sports, either playing or watching.  However, I do enjoy playing badminton with friends and if given the chance will watch horse events, dog shows or baseball on TV.

34. What has been troubling you lately?
The decided lack of unity within the church today.  So much time and energy is wasted by arguing over stupid things like whether girls should wear pants or not, or whether dancing is wrong or not.  Do we believe in God and in His Son Jesus and that the Bible is the inspired Word of God?  Okay, then can we let each family study the Word and decide issues like modesty or dancing for themselves without judging?   Um, yes - those things have been troubling me lately.  And no offence to anyone who does believe that girls shouldn't wear pants and dancing is wrong. :)

35. Who was your first crush?
Okay, so I've always liked boys.  A lot. *grin*  I had a myriad of little boy crushes when I was younger.  And I am not going to name names - you never know who is reading your blog. ;)  I did have a pretty serious crush for about 5 years when I was older.  I finally realized that, although the guy is a great guy, it wasn't right for either of us.  (btw, the crush was completely one-sided as far as I know;)  So, now I'm just waiting for the Lord to bring me my farmboy. *smile*

36. Where is your favorite place to go out and eat?
Olive Garden.

37. Give me an unpopular opinion you have.
Hmm...umm...I cannot think of anything at this moment...now I'm feeling very mainstream.  Ouch.

38. Describe a person that inspires you.
Just read this blog.  I am continually inspired and encouraged by this young lady, who I am blessed to call my best friend.

39. If you could earn minimum wage doing what you love, would you?
Yep...actually, isn't that what I already do with my Etsy shop and my sheep? *grin*

40. Describe the last time you were very angry at someone.
Amazingly enough, I can't think of anything recently.  Cool! ;)

41. Where would you prefer to live? A city? The suburbs? The countryside? The mountains?
The countryside/mountains.  They're one and the same here.

42. Where is "home" for you?
Idaho...where my family and friends are...also, my grandma's house in California.

43. Where do you and your friends go to hang out?
Farragut State Park during the warm weather and someone's house during the cold weather.

44. Have you ever been bullied? Have you ever bullied anyone else?
Nope.  Also nope...except for my bro.  Older sister's privilege. ;)

45. Is it possible for guys and girls to be just friends?
Absolutely!!   I have a lot of guy friends.  They're like brothers and I love them all dearly.

46. What are the 6 songs you listen to the most?
While I'm Waiting (John Waller), He's a Pirate (POTC  soundtrack), Ain't That a Shame (Pat Boone), That's How You Know (Amy Adams from Enchanted), I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers, The Phantom of the Opera from the Phantom of the Opera.  And it really varies from week to week.  I have a lot of favorite songs, but I do listen to those I named a lot.

47. If you could meet anyone on earth, who would it be?
Olivia de Havilland, Julie Andrews or David Tennant. *smile*

48. What is your favorite blog currently?
No way - I'm not going to choose favorites!  If I comment on your blog, then it's a favorite. :)

49. What's the farthest you've ever been from home?
North Carolina

50. What's the one thing you're afraid of?
Snakes and heights.  I also have irrational fears, although I guess they fall more under the heading of "worry".  Like the time I just about had a panic attack thinking about how one of my kids could potentially drown in an animal water trough...and then I had to laugh because I'm not married and don't have any kids yet.  Still, I have a plan all worked out for keeping the water troughs and buckets covered.  Doesn't hurt to be prepared, does it? ;)

seems like every tag/award has "random facts about me" somewhere in there...;)
1. I'm 5' 4.75" tall.
2. I'm a licensed Ham (Amateur) Radio Operator.
3. My favorite season is Fall.
4. I finally stopped biting my fingernails this year.  Yes, I'm ridiculously pleased with myself.
5. I love fried green tomatoes.
6. I was in 4-H for 10 years - my projects were dog, horse, foods and cat.  Cat was excessively boring.
7. My favorite names for my someday (Lord willing) future children are Kenneth, Edmund, David, Kellie, Rose, Josephine, and Olivia.  Possibly Harrison, Sherlock, Marie, Esther, and Ruth as middle names. ;)
8. The stone on my purity ring is my birthstone, aquamarine.
9. Dogs are my favorite animal, especially boxers and border collies.  Of course, I just love animals in general, but dogs are special.
10. I'm struggling to come up with one more fact about myself that you don't already know...
11. I love spicy Mexican food.

1. What is your favorite flower?  
Geraniums...and violets...and lavender...and lilacs. :)

2. Do you plan to see The Hobbit and/or Les Miserables when they come out in December?  
Absolutely going to see The Hobbit!!!!!!!  I cannot WAIT!!!!!!!!!! :D  I've yet to read or watch Les Miserables, but it's on my fall/winter reading list, so maybe I will go see it.  Anne Hathaway is a good enough reason on it's own;)

3. If you could wear a dress from any period movie, what would it be?  
Goodness, how to decide which one...oh, I know!  Any of the dresses worn by Olivia de Havilland in Captain Blood.  They're absolutely gorgeous, as is Olivia.  Also love her hats.  As far as the usual BBC dramas go, anything worn by Margaret Hale in North & South.  LOVE her outfits so much.


4. Have you read any of Beverly Lewis' Amish fiction books?  
Yes!  I love them, but then I've always been fascinated by the Amish.  I think my favorite was the Abram's Daughters series.

5. Do you prefer Mr. Darcy or Mr. Knightley?  
Mr. Knightley.  No contest.

6. Have you ever ridden a horse and if so, do you regularly ride?  
Yes, I have my own horse (Bob), and I don't ride regularly...yes, I feel guilty about that.  Life is busy.  I did hop on him for a bit the other day though.  It was wonderful.

7. If you could time travel, what historical period would you visit?  
The 1940s or the early American frontier or the days of William Wallace in Scotland!

8. What is your favorite hymn?  
Be Thou My Vision

9. Who is your favorite poet?  
I must confess that I don't read much poetry, but Kellie gave me a book of Emily Dickinson poems for my birthday this year which I'm planning to read this winter.

10. Do you knit, crochet, tat or embroider?  
I crochet and embroider, and I'm teaching myself to knit.  I've always wanted to try tatting, too!

11. What is your least favorite book?  
Hmm...I'm really at a lose here.  Being as I'm excessively picky about what books I read in the first place, there have only been a few that I didn't enjoy, and those I simply didn't finish.

If you've been here a while, then you know how much I love tags.
I love 'em.  A lot.
Alrighty, on to this here 7 random things tag...
{1.}
I can crack an egg using one hand without getting egg shells in the bowl.  Sabrina, anyone?

{2.}
The sheep made not one, but two escape attempts yesterday, but I rounded them up both times by myself. It involved yelling, flapping my jacket at them, and an outrageous amount of running.  I'm soooo ready for when The Doctor shows up! ;D

In case you haven't noticed, I'm a bit obsessed with Doctor Who right now...just a little bit.  ;)

Would you believe I spent about 10 min. trying to decide which Doctor Who image to put here?  I have way too many on my Pinterest board...and they're all my favorite;)

{4.}
My mom and I discovered Ever After: A Cinderella Story the other day.  Oh my word - we loved it so much we watched it twice in one day.  *grin*  The hairstyles...the COSTUMES!!!!   I love it!!



Prince Henry could have been a bit more...manly and less thoughtless.   He wasn't exactly lacking in courage, but....well, I guess it's not fair to expect all men to be like Sir Percy, is it? ;)

It's raining cats and dogs here again.  This has to be the wettest spring that I can remember!  It's crazy...and rather stressful for me because it means I've had to feed more hay than I normally would because the animals can't be in the pastures.  I'm running out of hay and I'll probably have to buy some more...which was not in my plans.  Oh well.  At least I don't have to worry about irrigating the pastures! :)

I found this recipe for Nutella cookies on Pinterest and gave them a try the other day.


Oh. My. Word.
So, so yummy!  And extremely simple to make, too!  Just three ingredients - flour, 1 egg and Nutella.

I just finished reading The Hunger Games trilogy yesterday.  Still not sure what to think of them.  I enjoyed the story and characters, but I don't think I would read them again.  Not the type of books I'd like to have as a steady diet.  They're definitely page turners, though - I finished them in three days - and gave me much to think about.

Tagged!

I've been tagged by Nessima Tavariel!
If you've been reading my blog for awhile, then you already know how much I enjoy doing tags=D

Without further ado...

1. Post these rules
2. Post 11 random things about yourself (optional)
3. Answer the questions the tagger posted for you in their post.
4. Create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.

Okie dokie, 11 random things about me...

{1} I can read a 300+ page book in 3 hours.
{2} Sherlock Holmes has been my hero ever since I was a little girl.  At one point, I had definitely decided to devote my life to the science of deduction...that never really got off the ground;)
{3} I'm a people watcher.  Nothing I like better than to be sitting at the airport watching people, speculating about their lives, trying to spot any detail that might give me a clue.  Maybe a bit of Sherlock did rub off after all. *grin*
{4} I love making lists of random facts about me.   That's basically what my About Me page is - one big random facts list.
{5} I'm a night owl.  I come alive after 9 o'clock at night.  I've never been able to fall asleep before 11:00 PM...unless I'm sick.
{6} I've never broken a bone (I may have used that in a tag before, but oh well.)
{7} Most mornings, I don't eat breakfast.  Just a cup of tea or hot chocolate.
{8} I've owned my beautiful horse, Bob, for almost 9 years now.  We're good buddies:)
{9} One fine day, I took a Lord of the Rings personality test.  It turns out I'm a complex combination of Treebeard, Gollum, and Frodo.  I'm one mixed up person! *grin*
{10} When The Doctor and Rose Tyler said good-bye to each other, I cried.  Not just teared up - I cried.  And spent about 20 min. sniffing and blowing my nose.  I do not cry over TV shows...but I did over this one.  Weird?  Yeah.
{11} I may sound spunky and outgoing here on my blog, but in reality I'm an introvert.


Ok, now to answer the 11 questions asked by Nessima...


1) What is your earliest memory from your childhood?
Hmm...drawing a blank here.  Ok, here's one - I remember having some sort of disagreement with my then best friend when I was about...5 or 6? and her mom made us sit on the stairs next to each other until we could behave. *grin* I also remember sitting on my mom and dad's bed every night while she read us a bedtime story, usually a chapter from The Happy Hollisters series.

2) You have a choice of being given any super-power; what is it?
Flying!!  I can't think of anything more original than that.  Sorry.


3) Describe to me that outfit in your head, the one you wish you had so badly...
Outfit, or costume?



Outfit: a 50s style shirt dress likes the ones worn by June Cleaver in the TV show Leave it to Beaver.  I could seriously steal her wardrobe - it's so my style!  Plaid, sailor collars, scarves, belts, pearls.  Just love it:)


Costume: a long, flowing, soft, shiny, elegant medieval dress.  Something like the dresses worn by Eowyn in LoTR.  I especially love her eggshell blue "Victory" dress.  It's so gorgeous!! 


4) What's your favorite musical instrument?  What image comes to mind when you think of this instrument?
The piano.  It always makes me think of my Grandma Barb.  Some of my earliest memories are of her playing the Bumble Boogie on the piano.  We used to dance to it;)

5) Would you rather be divinely beautiful, angelically good, or dazzlingly clever?
Dazzlingly clever, please.


6)Are you more likely to be found in an old attic with your nose in a book, or will you be hanging out at the mall with your besties?
With my nose in a book, for sure!  Actually, my best friend and I have been known to read together.  Just pick out books, and read...for hours...without saying anything...well, hardly anything;)


7) If you could've been born in any time period (other than your own), what would it be?
The early American frontier.


8)Is your preferred weapon a bow and a quiver of arrows, or a magnificently wrought sword (you're allowed to be all clever and say "wit")?
Bow and arrows.

9) Your preferred mode of travel? 
By horseback, of course!  I hate driving the car and I would totally ride my horse everywhere if I could.

10) You hear about a new historical or fantasy movie that is coming out soon. You are:
a) Ecstatic: you're favorite dream-boat of an actor is in it!
b) Super-stoked: the book that it's based on is amazing!
c) Excited to see the costumes, of course!
d) Your favorite composer is doing the soundtrack.  Need I say more?
e) Going just to see the horses which will undoubtedly be gorgeous.
f) Not going at all; there's a new sci-fi thriller out that begs to watched!
How about all of the above...except the last one.
*thinks about The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and ticks off on fingers*
Richard Armitage...Tolkien...costumes...Howard Shore score...horses (I hope)...what's not to like???

11) Of all the places in this world, the place you love most is....? 
My room.  Or my Grandma Barb's house in Southern CA.  I have so many wonderful memories of her house - it feels like coming home when I step through the door.

BONUS QUESTION (purely optional):  You have been tossed into a book; describe to me the adventure that follows this interesting turn of events... 
I'm afraid I'm going to pass on this one - my imagination isn't quite up to it right now;)

My beautiful boxer dog Bonnie, my horse Bob, my cat Muffin, in that order, but I love them all very, very much.

7) Biggest fear?
Pain, then snakes and heights.

8) Everyday attitude?
Mostly, I go quietly about doing my chores and other stuff. I guess "quiet" sums it up.

Chocolate? ;)

Watching movies in my room.

  4. I'm reading through Proverbs by reading the chapter that corresponds to the date.  Ever notice there are 31 chapters in Proverbs and approx. 31 days in a month?   Cool, huh.

(Mr. Knightley, Peter Blood)  Oh my.  Whom shall I choose?  I rather think that Peter Blood would make a better college prof, as he is a doctor, but I can totally see Mr. Knightley as one, too.

2. 12 sends 8 out on a mission. What is it? Does it succeed?
(Nancy Drew, Ivanhoe) Sir Wilfrid is sent by Nancy to commander Santa's sleigh for a joy ride.  Does it succeed?  I haven't the faintest idea. 

3. What is or would be 9's favorite book?
(Edmund) I rather fancy that Edmund would enjoy mystery or adventure books.

4. Would it make more sense for 2 to swear fealty to 6, or the other way around?
(Anne Shirley, Mr. Knightley) I believe it would make much more sense for Anne to swear fealty to Mr. Knightley.  I just can't see Mr. Knightley doing that for Anne.  It's far to romantic for him.


5. For some reason, 5 is looking for a roommate. Should (s)he share a studio apartment with 9 or 10?
(Arthur Clennam, Edmund, Elnora) Uh, Arthur would definitely have Edmund as a roommate.


6. 2, 7, and 12 have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?
(Anne, Knightley, Nancy Drew) They all go to the Olive Garden where Nancy proceeds to discuss her latest case, while Anne begins to recite poetry.  Mr. Knightley listens politely while eating his spaghetti and meatballs solemnly.

7. 3 challenges 10 to a duel. What happens?
(Elizabeth Bennet, Elnora) Elizabeth mortally wounds Elnora before realizing that they have no reason to be dueling in the first place.  She is then carted off to jail to spend the rest of her life behind bars. The end.

8. If 1 stole 8's most precious possession, how would she/he get it back?
(Jo, Ivanhoe) These two should have had the previous question. ;)  Ivanhoe would politely request that Josephine return his precious possession (his bronzed baby shoes).  Jo attacks him with a poker.  Ivanhoe, loath to fight with a lady, manfully takes the beating while devising means by which he might reclaim his shoes.  He retreats, only to return with Rowena, who grapples with Jo while Ivanhoe makes off with his shoes.  I think he grabbed Rowena on the way out, too, but that part of the story isn't very clear...

9. Suggest a title for a story in which 7 and 12 both attain what they most desire.
(Mr. Thornton, Nancy Drew) The Mystery at the Mill.  How original.

10. What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 and 1 to work together?
(Sir Percy, Jo) Sir Percy takes it upon himself to teach Jo the fine art of fencing and disguise, then they go rescue some aristocrats...or something.

11. If 7 visited you for the weekend, how would you get along?
(Mr. Thornton) We would get along simply splendidly, I have no doubt.  Go for long walks and rides through the countryside and discuss books we've read.  In fact, we'd get along so well, that before he left I'd say, "Oh, John!  Forget Margaret.  Forget the mill.  And especially forget your charming mother.  I'm the one you've been waiting for all your life!"  And he'd say, "You're absolutely right, darling!  Let's get married."  We'd elope and go to Scotland for our honeymoon and live happily ever after.  The end.  Well, I can dream, can't I? ;)

12. If you could command 3 to perform any one task or service for you, what would it be?
(Elizabeth Bennet) I should command her to teach me all of the wonderful dances she knows!


13. If 2 had to choose sides between 4 and 5, which would it be?
(Anne, Sir Percy, Arthur)  A romantic little thing like Anne would absolutely side with Sir Percy.


14. What might 10 shout while charging into battle?
(Elnora) "I changed my mind! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!" (my bro gets the credit for that one;)


15. If you chose a song to represent 8, which song would you choose?
(Ivanhoe) I haven't the foggiest of ideas.

16. 1, 6, and 12 are having dim sum at a Chinese restaurant. There is only one scallion pancake left, and they all reach for it at the same time. Who gets to eat it?
(Jo, Knightley, Nancy Drew) Mr. Knightley would defer to the ladies, Nancy would defer to Jo, and Jo would eat the pancake.


17. What would 5 most likely be arrested for?
(Arthur)  Uh, debt? ;)


18. What is 6's secret?
(Knightley) For years and years, Mr. Knightley has secretly desired to be a cowboy.


19. If 11 and 9 were racing to a destination, who would get there first?
(Peter Blood, Edmund)  Probably Captain Blood.


20. If you had to walk home through a bad neighborhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of 7 or 8?
(Mr. Thornton, Ivanhoe) Either one would do nicely, I'm sure. =)


21. 1 and 9 reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by 4's sinister secret organization. 11 volunteers to help them,
but it is later discovered that s/he is actually a spy for 4. Meanwhile, 4 has kidnapped 12 in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise

Josephine & Edmund reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by Sir Percy's sinister (what?) secret organization.   Captain Peter Blood volunteers to help them, but is later discovered that he is actually a spy for Sir Percy.  Meanwhile, Sir Percy has kidnapped Nancy Drew (I hope he stamped her frequent kidnapping card...) in an attempt to force their surrender.  Following the wise advice of Arthur Clennam, they seek out Elizabeth Bennet, who gives them what they need to complete their quest (a magic parasol that gives you three wishes).

Tagged!

I've been tagged by my friend Mandy!  Yippee!!!  I love tags=)  Have I told you that before?  Yes, I have...but I do love them:)

WHAT IS HAPPENING...well, today I need to let the horses out to pasture {check}, clean the horse corral {check}, spread fertilizer in the small sheep pasture, move the sheep from the horse pasture to the orchard {check}, get some laundry done, and the list goes on.  I'm also planning a trip the library {check}. 
Besides chores, I was watching If You Could Only Cook (Jean Arthur) with my mom.  It's a screwball comedy.  Love it, although My Sister Eileen (Rosalind Russel) is by far the best screwball comedy I've seen to date...Easy Living (Jean Arthur) is good, too...and so is His Girl Friday (Cary Grant & Rosalind Russel). ;)
 
HOW I'M DOING...very well, thank you.  And yourself?

I FEEL...pretty good.  I'd feel better if the sun was shining...especially as I wanted to ride Bob today.

WHEN I WAS LITTLE...I played with my toy horses (Breyer and Grand Champion) and my dollhouse all the time.  That was before I had a real horse of my own.   But they were real to me.
 
I WANT TO GO...to Scotland!  And to North Carolina to visit my cousins=)
 
I LOVE...Jesus, my family, my cousins, my friends, my dog, my horses, my sheep, my cats, North Idaho, the color purple, books, denim skirts, crocheting, sewing, computers, Spring, movies...

  1. Ice Cream or Frozen Yogurt?  I don't get frozen yogurt very often, but I really like it=)
  2. How many siblings do you have?  One - mine brother.  I've always wanted more...
  3. What is your favorite hobby?  Oh, dear - just one?  Crochet is probably my very favorite hobby, although I have many hobbies.  Web and graphic design would come next... 
  4. Did you have a different hair color/texture as a kid, or has it always been the same?  As a kiddo, my hair was blond.  Now, tis brown.
  5. Do you like to go places, or are you more of a homebody?  Both!
  6. What is your favorite main dish?  Umm - cheesy potato pie or potato soup.  Idaho is famous for potatoes. ;)
  7. Do you wear jewelry? If so, describe your favorite piece(s):  Not very often, but when I do it's either my gold heart locket, my Audrey Hepburn watch necklace - I have a few other necklaces that I wear, too.  I rarely wear bracelets, and my ears aren't pierced. Edit: I also wear a purity ring which my dad gave to me on my 17th birthday.
  8. When was the last time you went to the movies, and what did you see?  Prince Caspian!  Whenever that came out - was it 2009?  I dis-remember...

So, I'm supposed to list seven random things about myself...
 
  1. My toes are really long and weird.
  2. I haven't cut my hair in three years and it's now about waist length. (I do trim the split ends, though:)
  3. I was seriously considering cutting it off really short this morning after watching Roman Holiday with my mom...but I didn't.  I might this summer, though.  Please talk me out of it.
  4. I share my middle name, Marie, with my Grandma Barb, my Aunt Liz and my cousin Abbie.
  5. All the dogs I've owned (that would be 3) have been brindle boxers with white markings.
  6. When I was a little girl living in Southern CA, I used to look at the pictures in my horse breeds book, and then cry because I wanted a horse so much and thought I'd never have one.  Thank you, Lord, for willing otherwise and giving me Bob.  I do not deserve him.
  7. I loved being 7-years-old because 7 is the number of completion in the Bible.  It made me feel very special:)

Since I've only been tagged twice in my entire blogging career, I'm definitely going to have fun with this=)
 
So, I'm supposed to tell you what's in my purse, accompanied by photographic evidence.
I'm not really sure what's in my purse, so this will be interesting...

The purse
I love this purse, which I "stole" from my mom.  It's not big enough to be considered a sack, but it's quite spacious, with lots of little pockets inside.
 
Upon upending my purse, this is what greeted me...
Let's bring some order out of disorder, shall we?
 
Cell phone
 
Misc. pens and pencils
 
Several lists and my ticket from my last visit to the DMV
 
1 package of gum, 2 throat drops, 1 rather scuzzy looking q-tip, 2 things of dental floss, 1 comb, 1 hair bandy, and 1 bottle of hand sanitizer
 
Several tracts and my pocket New Testament
 
My car key and clicker with my library card and a little LED light from the local pet store.  That little light as come in handy.  Come to think of it, a house key would come in handy.
 
Wallet and makeup bag - I don't wear makeup, except for lipstick occasionally, so this bag contains lipstick, Burt's Bees lip gloss, antibacterial ointment, a small tube of toothpaste, a small mirror, a spare set of contact lenses, and a few hair bandies.
 
Un-used kleenex, used kleenex, and trash.
 
And that, my friends, is what is in my purse, minus the trash now.  Not nearly as interesting as my cousin's, but there you have it:) 
This is actually a useful tag, since it gives you the opportunity to clean out your purse:)

Book Lover Quiz

I enjoy quizzes.  I love the kind that get passed around on email - they're so fun and you can learn a lot about your friends! 
 
However, the questions, as a general rule, seem to be kind of...lame? 
Like, "Do you wish on stars?"  Not very thought provoking or deep or worth asking, in my opinion.
 
So, I decided to come up with my own quiz.  The book lovers quiz!  I'm not sure if there's a certain procedure or protocol that needs to be observed when creating a blog award or tag, but I thought I'd turn this into a tag/award by creating a graphic to go with it...because I love designing graphics:)
