Snowflakes // New in the Shop

7 Snowflake Ornaments // by Wool & Whatnot

Christmas has arrived at the shop!  These snowflakes are so much fun to make, and I love the way they look on the tree.  Not that we actually have our tree up yet.  I may already be listening to Christmas music, but the tree doesn't go up until after Thanksgiving.  Why not? Ninjas*...  I meant to say, tradition!  But that doesn't stop me from getting super psyched as I finish up my Christmas shopping.  I love finding just the right present for each person on my list, and it's almost more than I can handle, waiting until Christmas for them to find out what I got/made them.  Yes, I love this time of year.

Are you all ready to skip Thanksgiving and get to Christmas?  I want to know!

: :

*An inside joke.  "Ninjas" is our answer to any and every question.
Why are you late?  Ninjas.
What time is it?  Ninjas.
Who the heck came up with Daylight Savings?  Ninjas.
Doth mummy know you weareth her drapes?  Ninjas.
Why haven't I seen Thor 2 yet?  Ninjas.
Doctor who?  Ninjas.
Give it a try!

Mossy Green | New in the Shop

Bow Slouch Hat in Green // Wool & Whatnot
grey lace shirt // thrifted {Dazzle}
grey plaid skirt // thrifted {Dazzle}
black flats // Fred Meyer
celtic cross necklace // gifted

Okay, I confess.  I love this hat, in this color.  And I've been wearing it a lot.  {see it here and here}  It's just the perfect green, at least for me, and I just love it.  Love it.  Especially with this plaid skirt.  I wish you could feel how soft it is.  The plaid caught my eye and touching it sold me.  I'm a sucker for plaid anyway, plus it's thrift store.  There is a green stripe running through the pattern, and sadly it didn't show up in these photos.  But I know it is there, and that makes me happy. *smile*

These lovely yellow autumn leaves are now covered with snow.  I don't know if it will stay very long since the ground isn't frozen yet, but it's here for now.  But all of our outside winter clean-up is complete, so let the big snow come when it will!

In other news, I just invested in something that will make both my blog and my Etsy more fantastic than ever!   At least, that's the idea.  Kellie owns one of its 'brothers'.  Focus your mental powers, and maybe you can guess what 'it' is... *wink*

Have you had your first snow?  I want to know!

Bow Slouch Hat in Vanilla // by Wool & What-not
denim jacket // thrifted
scarf // Fred Meyer
striped tee shirt // Big R
denim skirt // Chadwicks
mud boots // no idea - not terribly fashionable, but they work. *wink*

I love these crisp autumn days so much.  Cozy socks, hot chocolate, long skirts, boots, hats, sweaters... *bliss*  My morning was spent with a good friend who I don't get to spend nearly as much time with as I would wish.   I arrived at Jenny's house while there was still fog enclosing the prairie.  As we sipped tea and nibbled coffee cake (concocted by yours truly), we crocheted and talked.  And talked.  And talked some more.  About pretty much everything that matters to young women.  I've always wanted an older sister, and I'm so thankful for Jenny's godly wisdom and insight.  She's amazing.  We were having so much fun, and it wasn't until there was a knock at her door that we realized it was already 1:00 PM.   Jenny teaches music lessons at her house on Thursday afternoons, and her first student had arrived.  Hugs, and then I headed home.

My afternoon was spent most delightfully in the sunshine with my puppy, my kitties, and my bro snapping pictures.  I love the creamy vanilla of this hat.  It's so versatile and it really takes this outfit, which I wear a lot, from basic to brilliant.  Loving it.

How have you been spending these early autumn days?  I want to know!

I ♥ Thursday | no. 6

What I'm lovin' this week...

This granny square cardigan...

{picture credit}
I can so see myself making and wearing this...but in a more muted color palette. :)

This TV series...

All Creatures Great and Small based on the books by James Herriot.
For years I've enjoyed reading about James Herriot's adventures as a vet in the Yorkshire Dales of England, and to see some of my favorite stories come to life has been absolutely delightful!  I love the cast (Peter Davison as Tristan is especially good;) and the scenery is magnificent.

James Herriot, Siegfried Farnon, Tristan Farnon, Mrs. Hall, and Helen Herriot...plus Siegfried's dogs;)

Disclaimer: There is definitely adult content in this series and also some language which I could do without, so I can't 100% recommend this series to my readers.  If you've read the books then you already know what to expect.

Happy Trails, y'all!

p e r f e c t i o n

It's been raining a lot here.
I like rain.
Welll...I like drizzly rain.
Not 'raining cats and dogs' rain.
'cause that's just miserable to be out feeding the animals in...not to mention the mud.
But drizzle is different.
It's perfect for walking in, and it's also perfect for staying inside and being cozy.
Which is what I did yesterday.

I sat and crocheted and sipped tea and watched North & South.

p e r f e c t i o n

I actually debated between North & South and The Adventures of Robin Hood for a few minutes.

North & South seemed to fit the day better.
It's probably my very favorite period drama...although Little Dorrit is so close it's pretty much a tie.

Have a wonderful day, y'all!

also, the crochet pattern I'm using can be found here...although I made a few adjustments of my own.
