The Legend Continues // Game Night

Starting in the lower left corner and going clockwise...
Joseph, John, Seth, myself, Bonnie (in my lap;), Hank, Kimball, David, Cody's knees, and Michelle.  Not pictured are Alex, Rachel, Laura, and the rest of Cody.

iPhone photos...gotta love 'em.  Especially when they're of game night.  Our game nights are legendary...just sayin' it because it's true.  We have way more fun than people should be allowed to have.  There's laughter, inside jokes, excellent conversations, and of course, games.  And very often, spontaneous adventures which  typically include glow sticks, golf clubs, bonfires, and sometimes late night trips to town to buy Pringles.
Because we had to have Pringles.

This night included a phone call to Kellie, who was out of town at the time.  We put her on speaker.  Imagine, if you will, twelve people talking at once and trying to hear what Kellie is saying above that.
*smile*

Twelve player Apples to Apples is interesting to say the least. *grin*  David and Alex pretty much stole the show, making up stories using all of the names and objects listed on the cards.  Vastly entertaining.  If you don't leave with a stomach ache from laughing until you cry, you're doing it wrong.

Thanks to Joseph and Laura for chronicling our evening in pictures. :)

Happy Trails!

Fun and Games

Our last Game Night was waaaaayyyy too much fun!

We started things off by singing Happy Birthday to Brett, Alex, and Kellie.  Emily and Mandy made super yummy birthday confetti scones...or something like that.  Whatever the technical name is, they were super yummy with dollops of whipped cream on top!

With all of that sugary goodness - plus chips and dip - to fortify us, the games began...

I temporarily "stole" Algy from Kellie, so this game night was rather well documented.  They started out with a new game which I wasn't interested in playing, so I ate chips and took pictures instead.   It all worked out rather nicely, I'd say. :)

After a few rounds of the new game (something called Signs, I think?), we played Mafia.  Let's just say I really, really, really LOVE playing that game.  Okay?  Love it.  Our moderator changed the setting to the Old West.  There were towns people, two bandits, and a spy.  Everyone thought I was a bandit, possibly because I kept yelling, "Lynch him!  Lynch him!  Let's get this necktie party going!", and similar phrases.  Can't say I blame them, but I was actually just an innocent towns person...okay, a bloodthirsty innocent towns person.

Someday, I'm going to kidnap Algy.  I really enjoyed getting to use "him" - thank you, Kellie dear! :)

This is where certain people started getting a bit, shall we say, loopy?!

Brett...I, uh, never mind.

Can anyone spell "crazy"??

And I'm just here, being completely normal...for now. ;)

After calming everyone down, we decided on Pictionary for our last game of the evening.

And then everyone went home...and so began the "after party".

I missed out, but the after party involved two cars sliding off of our driveway.

Apparently, they had a lot of fun pushing them out of the snow and back onto the driveway.
This is Idaho, after all. :)

Happy Trails, y'all!

But first, here are the answers...

Character 2: Five thousand? If it can be told, where did you take on this fine bundle of lettuce?

{4.} His Girl Friday

{5.} The Trouble With Angels - Rachel and Mary

Character 2: I don't know. I wasn't going to use it myself.

{12.} Mary Poppins

{17.} Ben-Hur - Judah Ben-Hur and Balthasar

Character 2: No.
Character 1: I'm thirsty still.

{18.} Mrs. Miniver - Carol
Character 1: I know how comfortable it is to curl up with a nice, fat book full of big words and think you're going to solve all the problems in the universe. But you're not, you know. A bit of action is required every now and then.

{20.} Sabrina - David and Linus Larrabee

Character 2: Glass... Glass...[snaps fingers] "Alas."
Character 1: [snaps fingers] Of course!

{21.} The Major and the Minor - Susan Applegate
Character 1: You should be very glad I'm not 12. I was a very straightforward child. I used to spit.

{23.} The Parent Trap - Verbena

December 30, 2011

The day after Christmas...

We grabbed our Christmas candy, warmed up the car, and drove over to the A's house for an afternoon of...

Oh, yeah!!

"Snakes.  Why did it have to be snakes?"

Harrison Ford is awesome.  Just sayin'...

We watched in awe, laughed (Bang!), and ate our candy.
Also some delicious chips and dip made by Mrs. A and nummy cookies.
=)

Matthew's GIANT peppermint stick.
It's going to take him a long time to whittle that down to size...and might possibly cost him his teeth in the process.

After our movie was over, we played In a Pickle.
If all games must have a point and must make sense at all times, then this is not the game for you.
It's the perfect game for us, though.

Christopher

I win!!

Me! =)
Absolutely one of the most fun afternoons of my life!
I'm thinking that we might have to make this a day-after-Christmas tradition.
What do you think?
=)

Christmas Eve

It seems like each Christmas is better than the last, and this year was no exception...

Tradition dictates that the Falconers must come over on Christmas Eve, so...they did.

Tradition further dictates that we play Risk...and we did

good friends - laughter - sweet treats

Tradition also dictates that we take pictures in front of the tree.
Tradition was outraged last year - we forgot to take pictures!
We didn't dare forget this year...

Here's the whole gang. :)

That's all for now folks!
